Impact Report

2022 Review / 2023 Look Ahead

Impact Report.

Dear friends, we welcome you to explore our latest Impact Report.

The report combines a review of our efforts in 2022, including a showcase of startups selected into our portfolio, and a look ahead to our new strategic initiatives for 2023.

Let’s feed, fuel and heal the world.

Highlights

In 2022, we worked closely with 589 startups. To emphasize our commitment to impact, we collaborated with them through the prism of the U.N.’s Sustainable Development Goals. We also committed to diversity, equity and inclusion in our selection process, and especially focused on under-represented entrepreneurs. Within our 2022 portfolio, startups who identified as women- or minority-led ventures grew to 48%.

Limited Edition Prints

We will be releasing the cover artwork from this year’s impact report as a limited-edition poster and t-shirt, printed using sustainable materials and inks. We will make these items available to our ecosystem and supporters.

The artwork represents the interconnected nature across our critical areas of impact, including an overarching focus on the Environment & Climate and its interplay with Agriculture & Food, CleanTech & Energy, BioSciences & Healthcare, Marine & Oceans and Education & Community.

We are focused on fostering science and technology innovation to profoundly improve the lives of all and transform the world for the better.

The cover artwork for this year’s Impact Report was designed in-house at Larta Institute by designer, Danielle Pachuta.

Our Impact in 2021

Our mission is to foster science and technology innovation for a sustainable planet. In 2021, we re-doubled our efforts at Larta on this mission. We served 572 ‘innovators’. These are entrepreneurs and startups who work across the six impact areas — Environment & Climate, Agriculture & Food, Cleantech & Energy, Biosciences & Healthcare, Marine & Oceans and Education & Community — that collectively form Larta’s sustainability agenda. We hope this 2021 Impact Report provides you with a high-level understanding of Larta Institute’s contribution towards a more inclusive, just, and sustainable planet.
