Publicly-Funded Government Programs.
Each year, America’s Seed Fund awards over $4 billion of equity-free funding to American small businesses through federal agencies.
Through the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs, America’s Seed Fund provides non-dilutive funding to develop your technology and chart a path toward commercialization.
Currently, Larta offers formal programs for the U.S. Department of Energy (SBIR Phase I) and the U.S. Department of Agriculture (SBIR Phase I and Phase II). We have also served as formal partner to NIH, NIST, NSF and more recently, NOAA on these agencies’ Phase I or II programs. We provide assistance to companies who have received Technical & Business Assistance (TABA) funding from all agencies, including NASA.

Our Alumni — you’re in good company.
Since 1993, we’ve helped over 6,500 startups turn bold ideas into successful businesses—driving innovation, creating jobs, and strengthening industries through our programs, partnerships, and funding.
Impact & Sustainability.
We select founders and startups into our programs based on alignment to our Thesis – our impact, investment, and portfolio strategy.
We have identified three strategic impact areas for our efforts, which are built upon the U.N. Sustainable Development Goals. These impact areas are strongly interconnected, requiring coordinated efforts to effect change in communities, in the systems we use to manage our resources, and across the natural planet as a whole. This structured approach offers a clear framework with measurable outcomes to assess our impact.
Our understanding of sustainability is influenced by the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals, or SDGs, which are a set of 17 interconnected global objectives designed to serve as a blueprint for achieving a better and more sustainable future for all.
We provide innovators with access to our programs, ecosystem and funding which all play a vital role in supporting the development and implementation of their solutions.
Together, these three pillars create a strong platform that helps innovators and startups develop real-world solutions to today’s biggest challenges—driving progress in energy, health, and economic growth.
Our programs provide essential support to vetted early-stage ideas, nurturing them with specialized expertise, tools, and guidance, ensuring these concepts evolve from ideas into practical solutions.
Our ecosystem provides innovators with a supportive network that includes government bodies, industry leaders and academic institutions. This network not only offers resources but also valuable connections and partnerships, fostering an environment where innovative solutions can thrive and gain traction.
Funding is the engine of American innovation. Through a strong mix of financial support—including non-dilutive funds, grants, and loans—Larta and its partners help groundbreaking solutions get the backing they need to grow, scale, and drive real progress in energy, technology, and industry.
Larta's involvement was crucial in our early days to validate our value proposition into a cohesive roadmap and business plan.
