Los Angeles, CA — Larta Institute, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit advancing science and technology innovation for a sustainable planet, today released its 2025 Impact Report, outlining how the organization is advancing innovation from research and development to deployment.

The report comes at a pivotal moment. In 2025, converging pressures—from climate-driven disruptions to widening capital gaps and shifting federal priorities—made clear that the real challenge isn’t just coming up with new ideas. It’s making sure that viable solutions actually reach the people and places that need them most.

“Innovation only matters when it reaches people,” said Rohit Shukla, Founder and CEO of Larta Institute. “This report reflects how we are building the systems that allow high-impact solutions to move from discovery to deployment, especially in areas where traditional pathways are under strain.”

2025 Impact Highlights

In 2025, Larta supported 300 enterprises and advanced 361 technologies through 10 specialized commercialization assistance and innovation hub programs, helping mobilize more than $40+ billion in follow-on funding.

Over three decades, Larta has supported more than 7,000 ventures and helped mobilize over $34 billion in private investment.

Building a Connected Innovation System

The report highlights Larta’s integrated approach across national, regional, and global innovation systems in 2025:

  • National pipelines, supporting 300 companies through federal commercialization programs
  • Regional deployment, advancing 24 companies through our Community Labs Programs, Venture Fellows and Heal.LA, with a focus on regional pilots and adoption
  • Global connectivity, strengthening international partnerships through Global Bridge across five continents

Together, these pathways form a coordinated system that moves innovation from early-stage research to deployment in communities.

Advancing Strategic Impact Areas

In 2025, Larta focused on three priority areas aligned with community needs: community resilience and sustainability, food and energy systems, and health and wellness.

These areas guide how Larta identifies, supports, and scales solutions addressing real-world challenges across climate, infrastructure, and healthcare systems.

Looking Ahead

As the pathways supporting early-stage innovation continue to evolve, Larta is advancing a system-level approach that integrates commercialization support, community validation, and catalytic capital into a unified translation platform.

The 2025 Impact Report outlines how this model will continue to expand in 2026, strengthening the infrastructure required to move science-driven solutions into real-world use at scale.
