Bridging the Capital Gaps in Healthcare Innovation Panel

This panel will explore the critical and unique role of industry, healthcare systems, and philanthropy in financing emerging healthcare and wellness companies, particularly in areas where traditional venture capital fall short.

While venture funding typically focuses on “grow at all costs”, high-profit, high-growth sectors, many healthcare innovations—especially those addressing systemic inequities, public health needs, and wellness solutions for underserved populations—struggle to attract this type of investment due to perceived financial risks or extended timelines for return on investment.

We will explore the role of healthcare stakeholders to advance the adoption and trialing of new innovations, new business models, and viable pathways within healthcare system to bridge the gap. This can include avenues for an emergent solution (software, device, etc.) to access financing for a pilot to show efficacy and safety or catalytic capital that enables founders and companies to take bold steps toward scaling transformative healthcare solutions.

Panelists will include leaders from industry, healthcare systems, philanthropy, impact investors, and healthcare entrepreneurs. Together, they will highlight the importance of industry partnerships, novel approaches to show viability in the market, and patient capital to unlock innovation in healthcare and wellness for all.
