Originally, from Riverside, CA, Nick is proud to have come from humble means in the Inland Empire. As a 1st-generation college student, Nick graduated from UCLA with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science and a minor in Environmental Engineering. To pay for his education, Nick borrowed over $60k in student loans, blended smoothies at Jamba Juice and waited tables at the California Pizza Kitchen. Each summer, Nick would drive forklifts and push pallet jacks at a warehouse in Chino Hills, CA.

For the past three years, Nick has worked at SoLa Impact, Southern California’s largest private affordable and workforce housing developer with 2,000 units under management and another 2,500 units in various stages of development and construction. Based in South-Central LA, SoLa Impact is a private equity firm that owns and operates four social impact real estate funds and a volumetric modular housing start-up (Model/Z). SoLa Impact’s motto is “Doing Well by Doing Good” with the mission of solving Los Angeles’ homelessness crisis through scaleable, cost-effective solutions to affordable housing while providing a market-rate return to investors.

As an Associate at SoLa Impact, Nick’s job is to help raise capital from institutional investors for SoLa’s real estate funds and new start-up, the Model/Z. His day-to-day includes proactive prospecting, strategic outreach, pitching, and responding to investor due diligence requests. Nick’s previous work experience was centered around corporate sustainability strategy and implementation including solar and EV charging deployment, GHG emissions inventories, and ESG reporting through GRESB and CDP.

Independently, Nick provides capital markets advisory and sustainability consulting services for real estate funds, utilities, and start-ups across the US.

Outside of work, Nick is a proud advocate for those on the Autism Spectrum. Growing up with a sibling on the Spectrum has enabled Nick to think critically, practice empathy, and embrace diversity. In Nick’s free time, he enjoys traveling, surfing, backpacking, fishing, and playing softball.
